TOPIC: MUSIC AND VIRTUOSITY 1) Fantaisie-Impromptu - Chopin Daniil Trifonov – Chopin: Fantaisie-Impromptu In C-Sharp Minor, Op. 66 I choose this piece for many reasons. First, it was composed by Chopin whom we discussed in the module to be one of the pioneers in the Romanticism era of music. On the other hand, this piece also has many things to discuss since it was an unpublished piece and only came to light after his death when the holder of the piece, against Chopin's wishes to not publish any unpublished music, decided to make it public. I think this piece is closely linked to our module 4 because not only was it a famous Romanticism piece but also because of how similar it is to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. The piece was written in 1834 and was published in 1855 after Chopin's death. The piece was C# minor key which is the same as Moonlight Sonata and that is not the only similarity.
